Dental Crowns and Bridges in Friendswood, TX

Do broken or missing teeth hold you back, making social interactions awkward and diminishing your confidence? Are you limited in the foods you can eat because it hurts too much to chew them?

This doesn't have to be your story. At the dental practice of Tim Molloy DDS MAGD in Friendswood, TX, we offer high-quality dental crowns and bridges to restore your smile, comfort, and confidence. Here's everything you need to know about these tried-and-true restorative treatments.

What Are Dental Crowns and Bridges?

We carefully craft custom dental crowns and bridges from materials that closely resemble your natural teeth for a seamless, realistic appearance. Opting for a crown or bridge means you can go back to chewing comfortably, speaking confidently, and sharing your smile proudly.

How We Use Dental Crowns

A custom-crafted, tooth-shaped cap matches your smile and completely covers a damaged tooth, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance. Some of the ways we use crowns include:

  • Support a tooth with a large cavity or filling
  • Protect a broken or cracked tooth from further damage
  • Strengthen a tooth after root canal treatment
  • Restore function and appearance to a dental implant
  • Conceal a misshapen or discolored tooth to improve aesthetics

Dental Bridges Replace Missing Teeth

Where a crown protects an existing tooth, a bridge replaces a missing tooth. This type of restoration is designed to fill the gap in your smile created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is anchored on either side by crowns and suspends a replacement tooth (or teeth) in the open space.

The Journey to a Revitalized Smile

Consultation and Planning

We want to ensure you understand your options and feel comfortable with your decisions. Dr. Molloy will take all the time you need to explain your options and why he believes a crown or bridge is in your best interest.

Preparation and Final Placement

We start by gently numbing the treatment area, then carefully prepare the tooth or teeth to receive the restoration. This involves reshaping the enamel to ensure a perfect fit for your crown or bridge. Next, we take accurate impressions of the tooth used by a custom dental lab to craft your final restoration.

While your permanent crown or bridge is being made, we’ll fit you with a temporary one to protect your teeth. Once ready, Dr. Molloy will securely place your final restoration on your tooth, ensuring comfort and a natural look.

The CEREC Same-Day Crown Option

While we emphasize traditional craftsmanship for crowns and bridges, we understand that life can be unpredictable. If you have an urgent need due to an upcoming event or travel, talk to us about CEREC. This technology can deliver crowns in a single visit, though we reserve this service for specific cases.
